THIS TIME LAST YEAR - PREPARING TO LEAVE

What a whirlwind year. Hard to believe that a year ago we were getting ready to leave on the big plane and bring home our baby girl. I look at her and she doesn't even look like the same little baby. She is getting to be such a big girl, even though she says she is still a baby :). I was going to do a post a day for the month of Nov., but that seemed like too much work!!! I renewed my subscription to my journey to me where I journaled our trip. You can click on the link on the sidebar and see how far we have come!! or you can click HERE.

This year for halloween we are going to our church's Fall fest. Of course Emily will BE dressed up. (I gave a little hint as to what she would be dressed as...check back Sat. for the cute pics).

KID'S SAY THE DARNEST THINGS

Here is just a sampling of some of the cute things Emily says. She is starting to talk in 3 or 4 word sentences, and she is getting quite good at expressing herself.

She has started callin me "mommy" she over pronounces it - mommmeeeeee

She has also started saying daddy instead of dada.

If she likes the clothes I set out for her she says "cute."

If you tell her what her shirt says she remembers and can tell you later.
One shirt she has says I AM THE BOSS. When you ask her what it says she says "boss", if you then ask her who she is the boss of, she follows that up with "dada," "dada's boss"

She loves to be licked by the dog. She will then say "he licked me" and she is laughing.

She hates it when Maw Maw goes into her room and shuts the door (Maw Maw lives with us). She used to come to me and say "Maw Maw door" which means Maw Maw closed her door in my face. I empowed her by telling her to tell Maw Maw she is rude. She now bangs on Maw Maw's door and says "Maw Maw in" which means Maw Maw let me in. Maw Maw usually answers No, and Emily shouts "Maw Maw rude"

She always refers to herself as Emmie. She can now say her last name as well.

This morning she was in the bathroom with daddy, and she went to the door and told daddy, "Emmie lock Momma out."

You can ask her where she wants to sleep and she says "Dada's bed"

THE PARK

EMMIE and Momma went to the park today. Boy did she enjoy that. Emily is such a MONKEY GIRL!! She so loves to climb. She finally enjoys the slide. And as you can tell by the expression on her face, the swing is her favorite. We had her new squeaky shoes on, but they don't sqeak when they are full of sand. Today was also her first experience with sand. She got aggrevated at me because I told her she had to go up the stairs instead of climbing up the slide and she reached down and grabbed handfuls of sand and started throwing. At first she didn't like being dirty, she would brush her hands together to get the sand off, but then she discovered that sand was good.
Enjoy the pics!!

She is getting so big!!
I just love this photo. She had climbed up on the slide platform and looked down through the grate. Hi Momma!!

Yes, she climbed up there all by herself.

Emily wanted to look at the pictures - she always want to see the baby. I asked her what she was doing here and she said "sleep"!! Her shirt says "made in China"

AND NOW IT IS OCTOBER

Can you believe??? Where has time gone.

Just a little update of what has been going on and what we are looking forward to for this month.

Emily now has nine teeth (I think they are coming in so slow!!)
Her hair is really starting to grow out. It is in the kind of in between long and short where it is all wirey.
Emily easily recognizes and knows peoples names. It is so cute.
She is definately a daddy's girl. She has always said she was a daddy's girl, but sometimes she didn't want anything to do with daddy, but now she is all about dad.
She loves to take showers...Yes, SHOWERS!!!
She can now get out of her bed. You can ask her how she got out of her bed, and she says "climb!" I am not sure if I am ready to convert the crib to a toddler bed.
She can also open doors now. I have knob covers on almost all of them.
She loves to watch Dora and Kai Lan.
Daddy can fix anything. If Dora and Kai Lan are not on when she wants them to be," DaDa six it"

And here are some things that we have planned for month that we are excited about:

Corn maze
Pumpkin patch
Fall festival
Playdates at the park
the zoo
Dakota's birthday - Dora the pony will be there - and Emily gets to ride this time!!
Fall Festival - I am still trying to come up with dress-up ideas - do you have any??

Sorry, no pictures, but as you can see, there are several photo ops. coming up this month.....stay tuned........
