MY FRIENDS MIKE AND DORA
Friday night we took Emily to see "the big kids tumble." We took her to a gymnastics meet at LSU. She loved it!! It was kids night and D*ra was there. As you can see from the picture, she is a little unsure of D*ra, but she is not afraid (remember, she isn't afraid of anything!!). She loved Mike the Tiger, the mascot. The middle picture is a mural of Mike in the outer concourse of the arena - looks like he is on her shoulders!! It was a really neat mural - it had a measure stick (like on the doors of convience stores) and coaches and players so that you could compare your height to theirs. That was the best picture that we could get of her and we had to bribe her with popcorn. She was really good enjoyed the meet. She had to have a pom-pom and she shook it and yelled "Go tigers." When you ask her what was her favorite part of the night, her answer is "POPCORN!"

NO PICS...JUST UPDATE
Not much new here....Momma about to go stir crazy with Spring Fever!!! We have had some kind of nice days - but that old North wind is still cold. Sorry for no pictures...this is just a quick post and I can't find my USB cord (it's late and I am just too lazy to look for it).
We are taking Emily to a gymnastics meet at LSU on Friday. It is kids night, so D*ra will be there, she will be so excited!! This is the first LSU "sporting" event we have taken Emily to and we are excited. We used to go to the LSU Basketball games all the time and just couldn't wait to have a little one to take.
Emily has been asking EVERY day to go to the park or zoo. She is as ready to get outside as Momma is. Sat. night she kept begging to go to the zoo. I told her the animals were sleeping, she said she would wake them up!!
Daddy is doing a craft show the first weekend of March. It is at a large church here locally and they are having carnival type rides and petting zoo, so Miss E will really like that.
Sunday we installed an alarm on her bedroom door. She has been getting up at night. It made me a nervous wreck. I could just imagine her into all kinds of things while I was sleeping!! She can also unlock the front door!! The alarm on her door is one of those like stores have that chimes when you open the door (I surely didn't want to start locking her in her room at night!!) We also have to use the deadbolt on the front door to keep her from getting out!!! What a monkey!!
Emily is really enjoying her gymnastics class. She is really good as well. Just like her Daddy, she is so intense, anything that she puts her mind to, she does well. She can do a cartwheel, kind of. They teach them to put there hands on the ground and do a "big jump" to the side. I have to really watch her because she wants to do "big jump" off stairs, tables....

FINGER P*INT AND PL*YDOUGH
The Masterpiece
Last Wednesday after our nap, I decided we would fingerp*int. I kept telling her as I was getting everything ready that we were going to have fun. She loved it. Emily kept asking to play with pl*ydough though, so after about 30 min. we put up the painting and got out the pl*ydough. As I was cleaning up the paint, she said "Happy fun!" and signed thank-you. She totally melted my heart!!! She is just about big enough to start doing easy crafts - I can't wait!!
No, my card reader isn't fixed, but I plugged the camera into the laptop, and am downloading pics that way. It seems to be quicker, The only thing I am concerned with is my camera sucks batteries, so I don't know how well this will work, but for now, I am happy.

TREASURE TROVE TUESDAY - HUNAN
This is one of my favorite pictures. I had seen this done on some of the MANY blogs that I watched as I waited. They put the baby in the window, with the city they were from behind them. The purpose being that it looks as if they are overlooking the Province that they are from, and kind of connects them to their Province. I thought it was a great idea.
Emily is from Yi Yang China, which is in the province of Hunan. Province is like a state here in the U.S. We stayed in Chang Sha Hunan, which is the capitol of the Province. The photo was taken from our hotel room (Dolton Hotel), we were on the 33rd floor. As a testament on how bad the smog is, this photo was taken at about 1 PM.

TREASURE TROVE TUESDAY --LOOK WHO'S WALKING
LOOK WHO'S WALKING
Emily began taking her first steps in early Dec at 11 1/2 months and was fully walking in late Dec. early Jan. at age 12 1/2 months. The outfit that she is wearing was one of my favorites. I got it at a garage sale. And the one with Daddy at the bottom are of Daddy being silly. That is a pillowcase that he has on his head - and I am sure he won't be very happy that I posted them!!
Here are some current updates on Emily:
- Growing like a weed of course.
- Sleeping in her big girl bed (the daybed) and sleeps much better. She is also getting up on her own, so I have to really listen for her at night, or she will be roaming the house and having a good ole time!!
- Last Sat. we went to a local Chinese restaurant for Chinese new year and saw the Lion Dance. She is still too little, she thought it was just OK, but Mom and Dad really enjoyed.
- She is saying 5 and 6 words at a time, and is very opinionated. Here are some of the things she says, "Put movie in" "No like that" "Emmie happy baby"
- Emily LOVES music, and has begun to sing several songs including Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We need to get the video camera out to record.
- She can now reach and operate the VCR/DVD player and is climbing EVERYTHING.
- Favorite toys: puzzles, play kitchen, dishes, food, Pla*dough, coloring, telephone, and books.
